Good morning! I had to post a little something about the Yoga Reaches Out New England Yogathon 2013 before I head off Cape for the weekend (CT first, then Manhattan!). You guys…I had the best day! It was an absolutely beautiful Sunday in Foxboro, and I loved practicing yoga among 1,000 others. The group energy couldn’t be ignored! Together, we raised $500,000 for Boston Children’s Hospital, Children’s Tumor Foundation, and a healing through yoga program in Newtown, Connecticut.
Collectively, we did over four hours of yoga split into two sessions. The morning session had a different instructor step in every twenty minutes, and the afternoon session was with Bryan Kest, the founder of power yoga. Delia & I had our picture taken with him on the way out of the Field House!
One thing I wasn’t anticipating was the numerous photographers getting all up in your business while practicing. Even while we were meditating, they were circling. Not that I was really bothered by this, just surprised. I did find these cool shots of me taken during the day:
The last thing I would like to say about Sunday’s event is THANK YOU to all my supportive friends & family members. When I first learned about the Yogathon, I wasn’t sure if I could meet the minimum donation requirement of $250, and therefore if I should sign up or not. But thanks to you all, I surpassed that goal. Your generosity really blew me away, and I know the children who will benefit from this cause would say the same!
Muchas gracias and a huge hug to:
Andrea Brown, Doreen & Ed Brown, Adrianne & Linda Economu, Ryan Fleming, Ira Gray, Molly & Valerie Kienzler, Seth Mantie, Mom & Dad, brother Dave, Sarah Roberts, Matt Schoenberg, and Tom Vohoska.
